Hello Darling;

Well dear, here I am your wife who is getting bigger all the time. I am going to sit right down and write you a nice long letter as there is so much news that I will need to tell you that I think I will be using a whole pad of paper.
First dear, let me say thank you for the lovely purse that you sent down to me for my birthday, it is just lovely and I think it will look ever so smart when I go out with you once you are back for Christmas. It was such a nice surprise when it was delivered and I think that you spent too much money on the surprise but darling, I love it very much, almost as much as I love you so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
As it is Wednesday night and I have been working all week I have not had much time to do anything except go to work and come home and help Mother with Beverley who is having a terrible time with a cold. She has been up the last 2 nights crying and there is nothing that we can do to console her. I guess I should get used to this as when we have our little baby we will have to take turns getting up with them when they cry but I think I will not mind as much as I do now as I will not have to go to work the next day. Monday I was so tired by the time I got to work I think I actually had a wee nap on the streetcar as soon as I sat down.
Darling I want to let you know that I have started to tell a few people about my condition and those people are Doris, Dot and your aunts. Everyone was so excited for not only me, but for you as well. They were all saying that they cannot wait to see you with a baby as they know how fond you are of my little sister and that you love to take her on your knee and bounce her up and down until she is laughing. Doris said that she would knit some clothes for the baby and I thought that was such a kind gesture. I think that having the baby in home made clothes is always better than having something that is store bought, but at Eaton’s they have such lovely selection of baby clothes that I think I will be able to use my discount to buy some. Dot was so excited as well when I met her for lunch on Tuesday and she said that a baby is one of the happiest things in the entire world. She told me that she would love to drop by some time during Christmas when you are here so that we could all raise a glass of cheer to the arrival of our baby. You know Dot, always thinking about a party.
I have decided dear that I will go and see the doctor at the end of the month which should are it about 4 months along but the time I go and see him. I think going to my Mothers doctor is the best thing as we all know him and he will be very good to me.
I was speaking with my Pop on the weekend and he was asking me if you were using the long underwear that you took down with you last year. I am not sure if you re using them as you have never said anything about them so dear, I was thinking that if you are not using them that you could give them to my Pop as he does not have any and he will need some this winter. So dear think it over and let me know what you think.
I finally took some pictures darling and I hope to have them developed soon and I will send at least 5 down to you and I hope you like them. I think this will be the last time that I take some pictures of myself as I am filling out quite nicely as I move into my 4th month. I will leave it to your imagination dear on where I am filling out.
My Mom and Pop have not made any decisions yet on the Browning Ave place and I think that due to the time of year they are going to just let that one stay where it is for now as this will be a big decision and I think that my folks are not ready t make that final decision.
I ma glad that you are still going to the show dear and I think that picture you mentioned with Humphrey Bogart sounds like a dandy and maybe if it is here I will take it in with Jessie or Irene as Dot is not a person who really likes to go to the movies and Doris is often too busy with her sewing and knitting to be bothered on going out so I guess I will have to wait and see who can come along with me.
I am looking so forward to you coming home at Christmas I can hardly stand the wait but I have waited before for you to come home or for me to come down to you so this last 2 months hopefully will just go by so quickly and it will not be long before I am back with you dear.
So darling I will close now and I hope I have given you lots of news that you will be able to write back to me with lots of news from down there as well so dear, loving you more and more each day,

From your loving wife

Doreen
